WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR ME?
DPK Ballet is for everyone and David prides himself on the level of inclusivity his classes provide. Below is a rough guide to which class is right for you. If you have any doubts, just get in touch and we can help you.
This class is for the absolute beginner ballet dancer or for adults returning to ballet after having learnt as a child
We start at the beginning: working on correct posture, basic positions of arms and legs, identifying the correct muscles to move the body and learning how to move in time and to the rhythm of the music.
This class is about how your body moves naturally in everyday life and how that natural movement transfers to ballet. Newcomers are welcome at any time!
This class is for all beginners with a good basic ballet technique who are ready to: increase the speed of steps, add arms to exercises, increase the difficulty, learn the joining steps between movements. We do less barre, more centre and you will eventually gain the strength, body knowledge and coordination to learn pirouettes and more advanced jumps.
This class will fill in the final gaps in your ballet barre, adding frappés and rond de jambe en l’air and barre exercises on demi pointe. We start working on double pirouettes and flying jumps. We will add to your knowledge and technique with more moving steps and more complex combinations.
These classes focus on alignment and technique at an advanced level, giving you an understanding of how your body works naturally in everyday life and how that can enhance your ballet training. David’s renowned teaching style is guaranteed to bring out the best in your musicality and presentation. Pro classes take place at Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden.
